Job Description: Serve as clinical nutrition partner for assigned region. Responsible for the nutrition care process through the supervision of practicing clinical dietitians responsible for nutrition screening, assessment, intervention, monitoring and evaluation, education, and menu processing according to established policies and programs

Job Responsibilities

  • In addition to managing nutrition care, lead the practicing clinical dietitians at long-term care facilities and/or continuing care retirement communities in assigned geography.
  • Participate in the development and oversee the implementation of clinical nutrition policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations • Build and manage the clinical nutrition team, including hiring, training, development, and performance management of staff • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including client clinical leaders, to develop and implement nutrition care initiatives that ensure the delivery of the best possible nutrition care • Provide education and training to clients and staff on the importance of nutrition in care outcomes and how to implement evidence-based practices • Stay up to date on the latest research and developments in the field of clinical nutrition and incorporate that knowledge into nutrition programming • Maintain & track professional and accredited continuing education annually for self and clinical staff • Approximately 50% travel required with in geographic location in alignment with client initiatives, sales support, personnel training etc.

Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist as accredited by the Commission on Dietetic Registration • Licensed in state in accordance with local licensure requirements • 5+ years of experience of progressive multi-unit management in post-acute care setting, preferably in long-term care with clinical and food service management • Strong background in clinical nutrition, experience managing a geographically disbursed team, and a passion for improving outcomes through evidence-based nutrition and quality initiatives
