Texas Student Dietetic Association

With 20 chapters across the state, TSDA has connected Texas students in the field of dietetics since 1974! Members of TSDA obtain the resources to be involved not only at their university in the Student Dietetic Association local chapter but also at the district, state, and national levels.

This website will be used to connect dietetic students in the state of Texas. Along with TSDA updates, there will be nutrition articles, internship advice, recipes, and everything in between!

STUDENT LEADERSHIP

Bailee Chavez (President):

My name is Bailee Chavez, and I am honored to be the 2023-24 TSDA President. After I graduate from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and a minor in psychology, I will enter a combined master’s degree/internship program in order to become a dietitian. My dream is to open up my own practice with a variety of services ranging from eating disorder treatment maternal nutrition, and weight management. I love TSDA because it has connected me with many high-caliber nutrition professionals and students. It’s been fantastic to join them in promoting health and wellness while also prioritizing fun.

Open Position (President-Elect)

Breanna Chavez (Secretary):

Howdy! My name is Breanna Chavez. I am currently serving as the TSDA Secretary. My career goal is to become a registered dietitian. I hope to find a role within the dietetics community that is fulfilling and allows me to be a light in other people’s lives. I love TSDA because of the sense of camaraderie and community among the students within the organization. Getting involved in TSDA has opened several career development opportunities for me, and I want others to experience these opportunities as well!

Christian Wilcox (Treasurer)

My name is Christian Wilcox, and I am from Marble Falls, Texas. I want to pursue a career as an RDN either in the field of sports performance or diabetes in a clinical setting. I love TSDA because I get to learn first hand about the wonderful opportunities that are available as well as networking as much as I can with current as well as my fellow future registered dietitians. It is such a great way to grow in leadership and explore all of the available resources, we have to prepare us for the Masters/DI programs.

Ann Vigil (Historian)

Howdy! My name is Ann Vigil. I am a current DPD undergraduate student at Texas A&M university, pursuing a career as a Registered Dietitian in clinical dietetics and eventually private practice. I love TSDA and its mission. TSDA provides amazing opportunities for all Texas dietetics students at no cost! We provide a warm and welcoming environment that fosters meaningful connections and experiences to advance the knowledge and involvement of our members within our future profession. I am honored to be this year’s historian and excited to have a great year!
