Last month, I shared how our mission and vision help guide the work of the Texas Academy. This month, I want to highlight one of the ways we bring them to life: advocacy. Nutrition policy affects nearly every area of our profession, from access to nutrition services and reimbursement to licensure, school meals, food security, and public health. As we prepare for the legislative year ahead, your expertise and experiences help us understand where our collective voice can make the greatest difference.
This month, watch for our Your Voice. Our Direction. surveys on social media and in your inbox. We want to hear from members and non-members about what you value, where we can improve, and where the Texas Academy should focus its energy moving forward. You can also stay connected by visiting eatrighttexas.org for upcoming events and opportunities to engage. You don’t have to be a policy expert to be an advocate—bring your expertise, share your experience, and stay engaged.
